Abstract

This paper investigates a design and computational method for its lifting characteristics using the flathead jib tower crane as a research object. We use a mechanical model based on classical mechanical theory and derive the expression for the characteristic lifting equation. The influence of different hinge points of the hydraulic cylinder on the boom and other hinge points of the hydraulic cylinder on the slewing frame on the lifting characteristics is discussed by using MATLAB with examples, providing a theoretical benchmark for calculating the bearing characteristics of the flat head jib tower crane.
