Abstract
Searching1CNKI-related documents related to virtual communities from 1998-2016, and using scientific measurement and knowledge maps to analyze their research status and development trends from different angles. The research results show that the research on virtual communities in our country generally develops slowly and the research depth needs to be strengthened; the study of virtual communities in China has sufficient funds, good research conditions and excellent research talents, but most of them are based on individual research. There is no obvious author cooperative group and periodical cooperative collective; knowledge sharing and educational virtual community are the current research hotspots. It is suggested that scholars strengthen academic exchanges and cooperate with each other in future research. The use of new technologies to develop an intelligent virtual learning community is a general trend. Future research should pay particular attention to the combination of artificial intelligence and virtual communities.
