Abstract

In order to reduce the accident rate of Work-at-Height and improve the intelligent level of safety management, this paper constructs an Intelligent Safety Monitoring and Control System for Work-at-Height (ISMCS-WH) based on “Smart helmet + Smart safety belt + Cloud platform”. This system is derived from the theory of the Internet of Things, using sensing technology, control technology, and transmission technology. Smart helmets can be used to monitor physiological parameters such as body temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen, blood pressure and fatigue in real time. The smart safety belt realizes safe hook, voice broadcast, and SOS for help. In addition, there is a function that the smart helmet can communicate with the cloud platform wirelessly. The cloud platform has functions such as managing employees, managing equipment, configuring equipment, recording information, and analysing employee status. The application verification and case analysis show that the system integrates the Internet of Things technology and wireless communication technology, which would effectively monitor the physiological parameters and unsafe behaviours of workers at heights, give a timely warning when the dangerous threshold is reached, and set up remote control measures to improve the safety management level of high-altitude operations. Once the value reaches the dangerous threshold, it will warn in time. Remote control measures are set up to improve the safety management level of high-altitude operations.
