Abstract

Mode compression dipoles can achieve higher directivity gain. With compression, the impedance of dipoles is different from the conventional ones, which impacts greatly on signal emission, transmission and reception. This paper delivers the theoretical equations of the input impedance of MC dipoles and the investigation of the input impedance of mode-compression dipoles, including the impedance against the length of dipoles resonating at odd-order modes and against the extent of compression.
