Abstract

Based on the similarity theory of visual search, this paper mainly studies the relationship between the characteristics of mobile phone interactive interface and the efficiency of visual search. Summing up the pictures’ background information and layout regularity from existing cases as the experimental variables, this paper conducts eye-tracking experiment. It studies the influence of the pictures’ background information and layout regularity on the efficiency of visual search through multifactor analysis of variance and average value comparing analysis on search time and fixation counts. The experimental results show that users’ visual search efficiency varies significantly with two variables, e.g., whether the pictures contain background information and whether the layout is regular.
