Abstract

To find the relation between conflict and employee satisfaction in geographically distributed software development (GDD) team, study the characters of GDD team and put forward four types of team conflict: emotional conflict, task conflict, cognitive conflict, and process conflict. Besides, bring in team interaction as an influencing factor of team conflict. Then come up with hypotheses about the impact of team conflict on employee satisfaction. And use collected data to carry out regression analyze. The results show that emotional, task and cognitive conflict all have significant influence on employee satisfaction, instead of process conflict. And emotional conflict and task conflict can change with team interaction. The results can provide some help with handling conflict more efficient and improving the employee satisfaction in GDD team.
