Abstract
Because the fault characteristics are not obvious and the detection is difficult, the high impedance fault is always the difficulty of the distribution network fault identification. According to the actual situation of power grid, the current signal at each measurement point in the line is selected to be a measured one, and the corresponding complex sequence current and zero sequence current are obtained. Two kinds of electrical quantities are applied to the high-impedance fault location respectively, and their effects are compared from three aspects of waveform, RMS and spectrum. By comparison, it is shown that which signal is sensitive to high impedance fault and is more suitable. Based on the study of various transient signals in power system, the simulation system of high resistance fault in distribution network is established for simulation and analysis through the MATLAB simulation platform. The results show that the complex sequence current is also a kind of electrical quantity which is suitable for high impedance fault location, and can identify high impedance fault.
