Abstract

Network Time Protocol (NTP) is one of the key technologies for time synchronization of mobile devices. It is very necessary for its research on Android platform. This paper designs an Android time synchronization system based on NTP for the requirement of high precision time for Android users. The system realizes high precision time synchronization with error range of tens of milliseconds. We analyzed the network latency and clock offset based on statistics. The result shows that as the synchronization time interval is extended, the correlation between the network latency and the clock offset is stronger, and the average of the time offsets of successive multiple synchronizations of the same synchronization interval is larger, and the accuracy is lower.
