Abstract

This article investigates the effect of the carrier phase shifted pulsewidth modulation on the vibration reduction of inverter-fed multiphase permanent magnet synchronous motors. This approach reduces vibration by changing the order of the carrier harmonic-induced electromagnetic force on the stator. Experiments verify that this method can effectively suppress vibration at a specific carrier frequency, but the vibration reduction effect depends on the carrier frequency, the modal frequency of the motor and the phase-shifted angles.
