Abstract

The applications of servo control technology in industry, transportation, astronautics, medical treatment, military and other fields are becoming more and more popular, which requires higher performance in response speed, tracking accuracy and adaptability to complex environment. The control algorithm has a vital impact on the performance of the whole servo system. Fractional-order PID (FOPID) controller is an advanced control strategy which has emerged in recent years. It has better control performance and wider application prospects than traditional PID controller. The parameter tuning of FOPID controller using genetic algorithm based on the state-space (GABS) is proposed, which is to achieve global search to obtain the optimal parameters, and then the design of optimal FOPID controller is completed. Compared with FOPID controller optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO) and integer order PID (IOPID), FOPID controller by GABS has better tuning results. And the system has better performance in response performance, anti-interference ability and robustness.
