Abstract

The foundation settlement of a large crude oil storage tank and the deformation of the tank body are an important factor affecting the safe service of the storage tank, and it is also an important index for evaluating the safety of the storage tank. The crude oil storage tank in an oil depot has been in continuous operation for many years, during which no inspection and overhaul have been carried out. In order to ensure that the oil depot continues to be put into production safely and steadily, the uneven settlement of the tank foundation, the ovality of the tank wall, the corrosion of the tank bottom plate and the thickness of each part of the tank wall were tested, and the results were compared with relevant specifications. In addition, the finite element analysis method is used to substitute the actual settlement value of the storage tank foundation into the finite element analysis model to analyze the tank body deformation of the storage tank. Relevant methods and experience can provide reference for the detection and safe operation of large crude oil storage tanks.
