Abstract

This paper introduces the mathematical model of the 3D cutter body by taking the turning cutter as an example. Considering a coordinate system on a constructing cutter’s body unit as the coordinate base, it presents 3D auxiliary drafting methods by the shaft-shaped network, arc-shaped network, faced frame and setting up layer offset. It states in depth the cutter’s body unit catalogue and constructing method, and the forming model driven by the constructing cutting database in the tools parametric modeling. Using creative thinking and intellectual programming, the system can realize the construction of the cutter’s 3D model. It simulates the processing procedure to construct a 3D drawing. Also, by simulating an assembling procedure, the system can automatically configure a 3D drawing and the drafting out an assembly drafting.
