Abstract

Public opinion is the wind vane of society. Fintech is growing quickly, and at the same time, it is steadily gaining more attention. At this point, it is more crucial than ever to increase crisis awareness and be alert to the potential public opinion risks which might lead to the deterioration of the industry development environment. Thus, this paper constructed a fintech public opinion research model based on the dynamic topic model, which consists of two parts: public opinion situation analysis and public opinion risk identification. We first studied the risk diffusion mechanism of public opinion by calculating the topic evolution trend of fintech public opinion. After that, according to the risk diffusion mechanism of public opinion and the characteristics of data structure, we proposed a fintech public opinion risk identification algorithm by considering the negative tendency of emotion and potential of becoming a hot topic, and the effectiveness of the algorithm is tested through the empirical analysis. Finally, taking into account the characteristics of current fintech public opinion and results of public opinion risk identification, we presented specific suggestions from the perspective of active prevention.
