Abstract

Transmission tower design is usually calculated using the finite element method. Tower shape is complex, multi-bar, and a finite element model is difficult and it takes a long time to become the bottleneck of FEM Tower. This paper presents a method based on ANSYS command stream which can quickly build finite element model of tower. Datum points created in the three-dimensional software Pro/E converted into the ANSYS command stream in order to set up the key points, table created in word can be converted into the ANSYS command stream in order to establish line elements, which makes it easier to prepare commands to assign attributes to the lines. This approach allows establishing the finite element model of tower several times faster.
