Abstract

High-voltage circuit breaker (HVCB) is an important control and protection device in the power system. Its failure will affect the safe and stable operation of the power system. Low temperature environment will affect the breaking performance of HVCB, but it is seldom considered in the current fault diagnosis of circuit breaker. In order to study the influence of low temperature, this paper takes hydraulic spring circuit breaker as the object, analyzes the principle of low temperature affecting its breaking performance, builds a fault simulation experimental platform in low temperature environment, and conducts a large number of low temperature fault simulation experiments. Taking the opening/closing time and the opening/closing coil current collected from the experiment as characteristic quantities, the characteristic parameters are extracted and their variation laws are analyzed, found that the low temperature environment can affect the breaking performance of the circuit breaker. With the decrease of temperature, the opening/closing time of the circuit breaker increases, and the temperature has little effect on the characteristic parameters of the coil current. The results of this paper provide a reference for the reliability research and fault diagnosis of HVCB in low temperature areas.
