Abstract

The rapidly developing Cloud Computing offers an ideal service platform for those who want to start up a rapid and flexible business, especially for Chinese college students facing with financial difficulties in starting their own businesses, but few studies have investigated the factors influencing Chinese college students' adoption of cloud computing for their startups from their points of view. The findings of this study show that: Poor Personal Technical Conditions has a significant negative influence on Chinese college students' adoption of cloud computing for their startups; concern and may try a new IT, Perceived Technology Usefulness, Perceived Service Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use have positive influences on the adoption intentions, but only the positive influence of Perceived Technology Usefulness is not significant; Perceived Risk has a negative but not significant influence on the adoption intentions, though all the risks were perceived by over 65% of the respondents. Furthermore, we find that the respondents who have tried or are trying their startups did not agree with the usefulness of the technology or the ease of use of the services. Finally, the cause analysis on these findings generates some useful suggestions to relevant companies and governments.
