Abstract
In recent years, Vietnam has been facing the risk of incidents that occurred during waterway transportation, which has been causing bad influences on the environment. Among those incidents, environmental incidents as the result of handling, storing and preservation of dangerous goods activities at inland and waterway ports have been mostly recorded. Even though Vietnam has legal regulations and procedures regulating management, control, prevention, and response to incidents in waterway transportation activities, thus at inland ports and waterway ports during the receipt and transshipment of goods there is yet no specific regulations and procedures regarding environmental prevention and response to these incidents during the loading, unloading, storing of hazardous goods activities. The article focuses on assessing the current actual situation of loading and unloading, storing dangerous goods activities at inland ports and inland waterway ports; doing research and accessing arising risks during this operation, and specifically suggesting solutions to prevent and control this issue in the future.
