Abstract

Eddy current loss of the magnetic coupling in fluid medium which named ‘wet’ situation is observed in this research. Numerical simulation of ANSYS is used to calculate and analyze eddy current loss in different fluid medium. The key equations of eddy current loss are based on the principle of magnetism. The model of ‘wet’ magnetic coupling is established to analyze the eddy current loss produced by magnetic coupling and isolation sleeve on the basis of finite element theory. Additionally, effect of rotational speed and conductivity on eddy current loss is analyzed in the study. Several methods to reduce eddy current loss are put forward incidentally.
