Abstract

Degree distribution of networks of parts relations for product family is studied with the theory of scale-free networks. Firstly, BA model is presented. Then considering the characteristics of networks of parts relations and based on BA model, the model networks of parts relations is constructed and the in-degree distribution and out-degree distribution of networks of parts relations are obtained. At last, by studying the in-degree and out-degree distributions, it can be derived that the in-degree distribution and out-degree distribution of networks of parts relations satisfy a power law and are independent of the arrival process of the vertexes. The analysis of the conclusion could be useful for forecasting used number of parts and defining CODP (customer order decoupling point) in manufacturing.
