Abstract

In Smart Grid, the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) implements many functions, such as remote meter reading, power failure detection, remote disconnecting or restoring power, anti-stealing power energy and voltage monitoring. These functions are under the support of real-time communication technology between smart meter and measurement data management system through data concentrator. Therefore, the security of the commands transmitted must be guaranteed. A secure certificateless multi-recipient signcryption scheme is proposed for solving the security problems of remote downlink control commands in multicast manner in AMI. The realization process of the scheme is supplied. The scheme can not only ensure the confidentiality, integrity and unforgeability of commands sent by the power company, but also make the identity of the smart meter receiving the commands unable to be leaked. After rigorous theoretical proof, it is concluded that the designed scheme may be used to protect the remote control commands against attack in AMI. Through the efficiency analysis, it is demonstrated the scheme is able to satisfy the time performance requirement of command communication in AMI.
