Abstract

In this paper, a new condition-based opportunistic maintenance strategy is proposed for the mechanical components in multi-component system which meet the characteristics of continuous increasing deterioration. This strategy uses the Gamma process to describe the performance degradation trend of mechanical components. Based on the existing single-component maintenance strategy, the detection intersectionality is introduced to describe the maintenance correlation between components, and group the components multiple times. Besides, the system-level condition-based opportunistic maintenance model is established with the goal of minimizing the average maintenance cost rate. Finally, the model is applied to the key components of a certain type of elevators, and the simulation results show that the model can significantly reduce the maintenance cost rate of the elevators compared with the optimization of the single-component maintenance strategy alone.
