Abstract

Business architecture is not only an important embodiment of enterprise vision and IT strategy, and but also the foundation of the enterprise information systems' planning and design. The traditional business architecture planning mainly relies on experiences to make a strategic decision. It is lack of synergy analysis of various factors affecting business architecture and has strong subjectivity, which often leads to a lot of problems, such as architecture deviating from IT strategy, the lack of flexibility and extensibility and the uncontrollable investment and so on. This paper presents a collaborative IT governance model which combines the IT governance three tasks with five key factors to build an evaluation index system for decision-making in architecture planning. In addition, this paper proposes a method of analyzing the synergy degree of various factors which may provide guidance on decisions in business planning. The application in specific business architecture planning shows that the method based on collaborative IT governance model can effectively guide the architecture planning and its decisions and can improve stability and extensibility of the architecture.
