Abstract

Channel estimation, as a key technique, has a significant impact on the performance of coherent optical Fiber-optic communication system, by transmitting the known data at the transmitter to the receiver, the original signal can be recovered from the receiver by equalizing the effects such as loss, dispersion, nonlinearity, etc. The coherent optical OFDM system is introduced in this paper, and the simulation platform of coherent optical OFDM system is built by using optisystem and Matlab software, the simulation test is carried out on this platform. The results show that the improved DFT algorithm can improve the performance of coherent optical OFDM system. The improved DFT algorithm and DFT algorithm have 1 dB optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) gain when BER is 10−4, and have3 dB OSNR gain compared with LS algorithm.
