Abstract

In order to improve the integrated effectiveness of shipborne chaff bombs, Researching on identification technology is an prerequisite to enhance the anti-missile capability of chaff, based on the difference of radar target characteristics between chaff cloud and ship. This paper first deals with the method of statistical analysis of chaff cloud doppler spectrum characteristics. Then, the three-dimensional solid model of chaff cloud and ship is established and used to carry out omni-directional RCS simulation in CST electromagnetic simulation software. According to the simulation results, the high resolution range profile (HRRP) and polarization characteristics of chaff cloud and ship are analyzed successively. The experimental results show that there are some important problems with chaff jamming, such as doppler spectrum broadening, lack of strong scattering center, poor polarization angle correlation, etc. The conclusion provides clear guidance and effective help for the improvement of traditional chaff jamming in the future.
