Abstract
In practical engineering, for instance the aerospace aircraft and engine industry, fastener connection is a very common joint structures, the current engineering typical strength analysis for bolt connection structure doesn’t include bolt bending analysis. In the engineering research and design phase, if the bolt connection plate is too thick or it contains shims or spacers that cause the bolt itself to be too long, then bolt bending failure analysis is also necessary. The bolt bending analysis is a complex failure mode, there is no unified analysis method for effective assessment for it. This paper introduces an improved calculation method which is proposed to specifically calculate the bending load of the bolt according to the force characteristics of the bolt for bolt bending analysis.
