Abstract

Since the national expressway has dismantled provincial toll stations and gradually adopted the electronic toll collection (ETC) mode, the proportion of ETC vehicles in expressway traffic flow has been increasing, and the number of ETC vehicles under special circumstances has climbed accordingly. However, the current ETC lane can not be processed automatically, which seriously affects traffic efficiency. The traditional special situation processing method can not meet the vehicle traffic demand. Based on the above background, this paper summarizes the current development status and existing problems of ETC, studies the special situation processing of ETC toll lane, designs the system architecture from the aspects of technology, business and function, and elaborates the main components of the system, business process design and system safety design. The aim is to improve the ETC special situation processing efficiency, enhance the special situation processing capacity of toll stations, establish a faster and more convenient special situation processing mechanism, and avoid the traffic congestion and potential safety hazards caused by ETC special situations. Among others, it works to lower operating costs, reduce labor expenses, improve the ETC special situation management system, continuously optimize the service process, and provide strong support for accelerating the realization of high-speed traffic modernization.
