Abstract

It has become the new goal of urban development and the common demand of people to improve the city’s level of employability and create a favorable environment for employment and entrepreneurship. Based on the functions of employment-friendly cities, this paper constructs an evaluation index system of five dimensions including population economy, life quality, social security, education culture and ecological environment, and adopts the entropy-TOPSIS model to evaluate the work suitability in the new first-tier cities, and tries to improve the entropy weight-TOPSIS model by using the vertical distance instead of the Euclidean distance. The new first-tier cities’ work suitability rankings obtained by the two methods is similar, which indicates that the evaluation index system is reasonable and the evaluation results are credible.
