Abstract

During the process of ∞ight operation, the occurrence of ∞ight delay causes great interference to the stability of the whole airline network system. However, so far no deflnite criteria have been put forward to deflne and measure the stability of airline network. In this paper, aiming at airline network, which is a complex adaptive system, we combine the actual characteristics of the airline network, take ∞ight delay as a breakthrough point, study on network instability from the perspective of system stability and do the simulation analysis, based on the thought of adaptive agent digraph. The indicator of entropy, which can re∞ect the stability of the airline network, is proposed to measure the uncertainty of system instability. The results show that using entropy as indicator to re∞ect the stability of the airline network is feasible. If the entropy is not zero, system instability occurs and ∞ights are delayed. And if entropy increases, the possibility of ∞ight delay increases as well as its spread efiect.
