Abstract
With the booming development of Internet of Things, machine type communication (MTC) will play more and more important role. Today, 3GPP LTE network have many advantages such as covering a wide range, high transmit rate, low latency and so on, which will be the ideal bear-network of the MTC service. However, service features of MTC is quite different with that of human communication (human to human, H2H), existing Poisson traffic model is no longer suitable for simulating real network traffic. This paper aims to upgrade the existing traffic model to reflect the actual traffic situation of network with mixed service better. In addition, when massive MTC terminals access to network, it will result in network congestion, increasing system access delay, and reducing effective access terminal, which will be the huge challenge for 3GPP LTE system performance. In this paper, the modified back-off mechanism of mixed service is proposed, simulation results show that the proposed mechanism can alleviate network congestion of mixed service and improve the performance of the system.
