Abstract

The conventional 6/2 (stator teeth/ rotor teeth) switched reluctance motor (SRM) has excellent high speed performance. But it is difficult to realize self-starting and the torque ripple at low speed is large. In this paper, a new scheme of switched reluctance motor with auxiliary rotor teeth (ARTSRM) is proposed. It can combine the superiorities of 6/2 SRM in high speed and 6/4 SRM in low speed. Base on FEM, the performances among the three types of SRM are compared and analyzed.
