Abstract

The virtual combinatorial scheduling strategy, which combines short-frame first scheduling with Weighted Round Robin (WRR) method, achieved the effect of WRR based on shortest frame priority scheduling. By deriving the maximum delay upper bound of this novel combinatorial scheduling strategy based on network calculus, the paper studied the relationship of the maximum delay upper bound, Virtual Link (VL) parameters and weight ratio, studied and compared the difference between the new strategy and FIFO. Model the AFDX end system with OPNET, simulated and compared the transmitting efficiency under the two scheduling strategy. The results showed that the AFDX end system possesses advantages of real-time standard, precision and fairness, and indicated that the new scheduling strategy is effective and feasible. Overall, the novel strategy improved data processing capacity and efficiency, shortened the maximum delay time of shortest-frame VL. Above all, it was mostly applicable to airborne network with more short-frame data flow.
