Abstract

The pulsed discharge plasma combining with catalyst to treat formaldehyde is one kind of late-model advanced oxidation processes. The paper is taking wire-tube pulsed discharge reactor with catalyst to research the removal of formaldehyde. The studies have investigated the wire-tube discharge reactor with zeolite, TiO 2 , TiO 2 /zeolite for formaldehyde removal, respectively. Results show that in the optimal experimental conditions and the reaction time is 50min, the pulsed discharge without catalyst for formaldehyde removal, the removal efficiency is 50.56%. Pulse discharge with zeolite for the removal of formaldehyde at a maximum efficiency is 58.23%. Pulse discharge with TiO 2 , the removal efficiency of formaldehyde is 66.12%. Pulse discharge with TiO 2 /zeolite, the removal efficiency of formaldehyde is up to 80.05%. Therefore, pulse discharge with TiO 2 /zeolite for the removal of formaldehyde can greatly increase the removal efficiency of formaldehyde.
