Abstract

The smuggling of liquid precursor chemicals greatly harms social public security. In this paper a method based on principal component analysis (PCA) is presented to recognize the EDXRS spectra of liquid precursor chemicals. Scatter profiles of acetone, acetic anhydride,2-butanone and isosafrole are obtained by using EDXRS. As the similarity of the profiles, it is difficult to identify samples, so classical PCA and robust PCA are applied to extract features, then K-nearest neighbor is proposed for pattern classification, the classification results are satisfactory. It is proved that this method can be used to detect liquid precursor chemicals.
