Research of Improved Error Diffusion Algorithm Based on the Gradient Distribution

Abstract

Error diffusion algorithm is a kind of common FM screening technology can be widely used. But this method will introduce much noise, and make the edge of halftone image not clear. So in order to optimize the traditional error diffusion algorithm, it can improve the error diffusion table of error filter by using gradient distribution method, and use the Floyd-Steinberg error diffusion algorithm to make simulation experiment. The results show that, error diffusion algorithm based on the gradient distribution can effectively improve the quality of the image, and the image will have a better representation of gradient levels.
