Abstract

In order to improve the performance of HVDC, using adaptive Fuzzy Self-Tuning PI Controller instead of traditional PI controller in the rectifier sides, take the deviation and its rate of the current in the DC Line as the inputs. Then adjusted On-line PI parameters according to the operation condition, and aimed to make the performance of the system is more superior. The DC circuit fault was simulated through a typical 12-pulse bridge of HVDC transmission system in the control of traditional ground PI and Fuzzy Self-Tuning PI Results show that, the adaptive fuzzy PI control has better response characteristics, in other words , it has better speed following , restorative and response accuracy after the disturbance occurs compared with traditional PI control .This controller also has smaller overshoots .All above improve the dynamic performance of the system.
