Abstract

The energy storage devices of photovoltaic and their control strategies are significate for the maintain of voltage stability of microgrid. In this paper, aimed at improving the voltage stability and the disturbance resisting ability of voltage, the power coordinating control strategy of photovoltaic energy storage device was researched and improved. Firstly, energy storage battery was selected as the main storage unit. The control strategy switches the Buck-Boost mode by detecting the balance of powers between photovoltaic cells and load. Energy storage device can smooth power fluctuations which caused by changes of light intensity and load for stabilize the voltage of DC bus. Secondly, the coordinating control strategy was designed for power balance of photovoltaic and energy storage battery which maintained the stability of DC bus voltage. Lastly, voltage stability of the micro grid with energy storage system service and out of service in this pager was calculated by voltage stability index LZ and simulation calculation in PSCAD. The results certificated the energy storage system with Buck-Boost mode coordinating control strategy could effectively maintain the voltage stability of load bus which attained the objective of coordinating control strategy design.
