Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of sodium fluoride film in anticaries action and prevention for enamel decalcification in orthodontic treatment.Method 68 patients with labioversion were chosen to be coated with sodium fluoride film on the surface of enamel around the bracket when they took the treatment.Sodium fluoride was coated every three months in a year.Results The incidence of enamel decalcification was 25% after sodium fluoride coating.Conclusion Coating with sodium fluoride film has significant effect on prevention enamel decalcification in orthodontic treatment.
