Abstract
The aim of the Soil Research Programme run by the Federal Ministry of Research and Technology is to bring together researchers from different disciplines to lay an application-oriented scientific foundation for optimizing environmental protection measures, ensuring that they remain effective in the long-term and making more sparing use of the resource soil. The research needs were taken from the Federal Government’s Soil Protection Plan and have been announced to all groups concerned.
