Abstract

The article discusses methods for studying processes in contemporary musical culture. New trends in the development of a transitional type of culture carry specific features that manifest themselves in unusual styles and directions. The article reveals the features of using various research methods to classify the processes manifested in modern musical culture and examines general scientific and special research methods, among which cultural modeling, structural-functional, and structural-typological methods occupy a special place. The material in the article will be useful in the disciplines “Theory and History of Music”, “Theory of Culture”, and “Musical Literature”.
