Abstract
Funding for medical education research in the USA is severely limited. Despite this, medical and surgical education research has seen tremendous growth over the last decade. This chapter examines the current status of medical education research and the influence of funding on educational research quality. It also identifies potential funding sources for surgical and medical education research and proposes strategies for successful funding.
