Abstract

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) plans to begin support of extramural research on earth structure and geodynamics in October 1985. AFOSR plans to make available $891,000 to support theoretical and laboratory studies as well as field measurements of geophysical parameters. The research must be “of potential relevance” to the Air Force's mission, which includes advanced testing of components, siting of Air Force weapon systems and other installations, characterization of the effects of seismic energy sources, and surveillance and reconnaissance missions. For more information, contact program manager Henry R. Radoski, AFOSR/NP, Building 410, Boiling Air Force Base, Washington, DC, 20332‐6448; telephone: 202‐767‐4906.
