Abstract

EXCERPT

Dissemination is a key step in the nursing research process. A recent journal article notes that sharing research findings is vital so that “appropriate information is incorporated into practice” (Edwards & Valley, 2003). This step includes presenting and publishing research results. The Journal of Gerontological Nursing (JGN) has a goal of publishing quality research, providing an important vehicle for researchers to publish findings relevant to the nursing care of older adults. The Research Brief is one format option the Journal provides for disseminating research findings. However, during the past few years, few contributors have used this opportunity. The purpose of this Guest Editorial is to explore dissemination of research, and encourage authors to consider the Research Brief format for future submissions to the Journal.
