Abstract
This chapter briefly reviews the development of aluminum electrolysis, as well as the electrolysis cells and carbon anodes in the aluminum industry. In addition, the shortcomings of electrolytic cells and carbon anodes used in the aluminum industry are introduced. Reading this part enables readers to understand the development of aluminum electrolysis and to read the rest of the book smoothly.
