Abstract

RFQ linacs are efficient, compact low energy ion structures, which have found numerous applications. They use electrical rf focusing and can capture, buch and transmit high current ion beams. Some recent developments and new projects, like heavy ion injectors for tandems and for cyclotrons, RFQ post-accelerators, and the status of the work on high energy implanters and small neutron sources will be discussed.
