Abstract

In recent years, academics have increasingly been confronted with regulations or standards designed specifically for their field that were produced by a variety of statutory authorities or institutions. The students need to find a way to deal with it and maintain a learning pace that is best for them continuously. The scholar's concerns about the steps required to earn a Ph.D. inspired the concept for this book. As a result, the content of this book took shape by placing emphasis on all the questions and concepts raised by academics. Not only is it vital to consider the topic of research and publication ethics when conducting research, but also when publishing the results of that research, It is one of the essential pillars that must be upheld in order to preserve the honesty and credibility of the scientific community. It is the responsibility of academics, universities, and other institutions, as well as publishers, to ensure that fair practices are followed. We hope that graduate students and researchers in the early stages of their careers will find this ebook to be a resource that is both succinct and thorough. We have highlighted typical areas in which scholars frequently have questions and issues to consider. We have discussed popular themes such as how to properly manage research data, how to avoid image alteration and plagiarism, how to efficiently manage authorship, and how to identify conflicts of interest. This book will give you a wealth of advice for properly managing circumstances like those described above. In addition to a comprehensive bibliography, this book is structured into five distinct chapters. The "Philosophy of Research and Ethics" is discussed in detail in Chapter 1, followed by "Scientific Misconduct" in Chapter 2, "Publication Ethics" in Chapter 3, "Publication Misconduct" in Chapter 4, and "Databases and Research Metrics" in Chapter 5. The last part of the book talks about how databases and research metrics can be used to judge how good research is.The authors of this book have gone to great lengths in order to produce it, as it was written specifically to meet the demands that the University Grants Commission places on doctoral research scholars in India. This book satisfies the criteria that must be met by all universities in order to fulfil the mandatory requirements for the dissemination of research and publication ethics for Ph.D. scholars.
