Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to review the most significant contributions and to cover the recent work performed by the industrial and academic research groups in the field of radar cross section prediction and measurement in Spain. Concerning the RCS prediction the different methods will be reviewed. Important work has been done in exact, hybrid and asymptotic methods. Particular attention will be devoted to the modelling, meshing and solvers for the complex objects analysis. On the topic of RCS measurement the different existing facilities will be presented. There have been important improvements in far-field and dual reflector compact ranges. Particular attention will be paid to the new developments in near field and polarimetric ranges. Also the imaging, classification and spatial contribution identification aspects will be discussed. Finally, the most recent work in computer hardware implementation on parallel machines and graphic workstations for geometrical optimization will be discussed.
