Abstract
It is very important to remotely measure and monitor hydrology information real-time so as to improve modern management of water resource. In this paper, a new hydrology telemetric system is introduced. The system mainly consists of remote terminal units (RTUs) and monitoring center. The RTU based on ARM is mainly designed to collect, store and transmit the water information to the host computer in the monitoring center. The host computer receives the data from the RTUs and makes correct decision after analyzing, which provides the water conservancy with immediate and exact water information. The remote communication between RTUs and the monitoring center is realized over GPRS. The basic principle, the system composition, and the researches on key technological problems are presented in the paper. And the main idea about improving information security in remote monitoring would also be given. The practical results showed the system is stable and reliable.
