Abstract

The Shunnan block located on the northern slope of Kathake uplift on the footwall of the Tazhong No. 1 fault zone in the central uplift zone of the Tarim Basin is featured by ultra-large burial depth, which results in the formation pressure of higher than 140 MPa, the formation temperature of higher than 200°C, the serious leakage of large density mud and the extremely-high difficulty in test. Through continuous innovation and exploration of processes and technologies, and continuous summing up of experiences, a complete set of test technologies for the three ultra-wells in the Shunnan block have been formed and successfully applied in the test of well NS7 that has the most adverse working conditions, which provides a certain reference significance for the test of similar three ultra-wells.
