Abstract

This paper presents the design and technological principles of a wireless sensor network (WSN) for continuous monitoring of the concentration of toxic gases, particularly carbon monoxide (CO), in the atmosphere in industrial sites and residential areas. Furthermore, the wireless sensor network transmits the received data through radio channels, having access to GSM and Ethernet telephone networks, and controls the wireless actuators.
