Abstract

The power supply structure has been changed greatly, and the available rapid frequency response resources of the grid have reduced gradually, with the grid-connecting of large-capacity and high proportion of new energy sources. Meanwhile, the external transmission scale of large-scale new energy bases through UHV DC is continuously expanded. A serious threat to grid frequency security will be posed by high power UHV DC blocking. The frequency regulation pressure and safe operation risk of the power grid are increasing. The participation of new energy for the rapid frequency response of the power grid is urgent, in order to improve the frequency risk prevention and control level of the large power grid. The rapid frequency response performance requirements of new energy power stations were introduced, and a typical scheme of rapid frequency response was proposed for existing or newly built wind farms and photovoltaic power stations. A new energy power station integrated control system was developed and a demonstration application was carried out in a photovoltaic power station. The integration function of AGC/AVC and rapid frequency response for new energy power station was realized, which achieved the purpose of active support for power grid frequency and voltage by new energy power station.
